Sometimes I write poems
I call them poems on the hoof, because very often they are nudged into existence by an event or an experience. It’s actually only been two years or so since I got back into writing poetry, stimulated by the reading of an amazing book called, The splash of words. A brilliant book.
I often write them in a card for someone’s birthday, or a bereavement card. I wrote one in a train, after the nerve-wracking experience of getting out of the regional train at the wrong station, and nearly missing the train at the main station. And if I’d done that, I would have missed my flight back to Switzerland!
Here it is.
